This Week at Messiah Lutheran

We encourage you to grab your Bible before worship begins. This week the scriptures being read are Romans 5:1-8 and Matthew 9:35-10:8.

We want to congratulate all our 2020 graduates.  May God bless you and be with you as you begin a new journey of your life.

The latest Portals of Prayer are available.  Please pick one up from the bench located under the Portico

Mark your calendar now. Our next Pub Theology will be in person, though still not at a Pub. Bring your favorite beverage to our Shelter House on Wednesday, June 17 at 7:00 PM. The topic of the night will be something that is in our news and that God likely has an opinion, too! Best of all, I don’t teach. I just lead a discussion that you share your reflections and experiences on the topic.

Bible Study on I John, Wednesdays

Two opportunities to join the Wednesday Bible Study are available.   The first one is at our Shelter House at Messiah at 10 AM.  Please wear a mask. The second is virtually, on our FB Group at 1:00 PM. I look forward to sharing a good word with you and fellowship.

Our next three Outdoor Worship services will be on June 28, July 12 and July 26. Due to the heat, we will have the outdoor worship earlier, 9:30 AM. On those days, our Live Virtual worship services will be at 11:00 AM. We will reprint the instructions for these worship services and send out a bulletin for them the week before. There are many volunteers needed, Parking Lot Ushers, Lawn Ushers, Communion Assistants. If you would like to volunteer or hear more about the responsibilities, please email Pastor Karl and pastorkarl@messiahlutheran.net

Dear Friends,
Joseph’s Coat is excited to be participating in the 2020 Big Give online giving event! Through your ongoing support of Joseph’s Coat, we were able to serve 8,272 families and 20,320 individuals in 2019. In 2019, for each dollar donated we were able to redistribute $6.16 of in-kind donations.  This year, due to the far-reaching impact of COVID-19, there are many more in our community in need of basic resources, many for the first time.
With your support, we stand ready to answer God’s call to serve our neighbors and lift-up those in need.  Your generosity will be instrumental in allowing us to open our doors while keeping our volunteers, clients, and the community safe, we need your support.  Please consider a gift to Joseph’s Coat during the Big Give so that we can provide furniture, clothing and household goods to the economically vulnerable in our community.During the Big Give, your donation will be amplified by bonus pool funds and credit card fees will be covered by the Columbus Foundation, allowing 100% of donated funds to go to participating non-profits!
What:  The Big Give is a 25-hour online giving event developed to provide critical support for area nonprofits. We ask that you consider giving to Joseph’s Coat so that we may support more families that have found themselves unable to meet their basic needs.
When:  Please join the Big Give and prayerfully consider supporting Joseph’s Coat on June 10-11th.
How:  You can find Joseph’s Coat in the Columbus Foundation’s ‘The Giving Store’ at https://columbusfoundation.org/the-giving-store/nonprofit-directory-listing/JosephsCoatofCentralOhioInc/10687# .
Thank you for making it possible for Joseph’s Coat to continue offering an outstretched hand to those most in need in our community.
Sincerely,Kelly Ours, Board PresidentJoseph’s Coat of Central Ohio “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none” Luke 3:11
